Forms of nivalis with green outer petal tips are known as Viridapice. The original discovery was in the grounds of a farmhouse in Holland in the 1920's. Either the plants are fertile or the variant has arisen on more than one occassion, because there are several forms of Viridapice in circulation; differing in size, vigour, pedicel length and spathe size and shape.
Our original bulbs came several times from the annual catalogue of De Jager. The resulting collection of bulbs show considerable variation suggesting that the De Jager bulbs represented more than one clone.
The bulbs we offer have all been propogated from a single bulb and are thus uniform.
