Straffan is one of the oldest described hybrids having originated in an Irish garden in 1890. It has always been noted for reliably producing a second flower. This is usually equal in stature to the first and produced sequentially, giving a long and floriferous display.
We have stock which came originally from Broadleigh Gardens. We also have stock which came un-named from an old Aberdeenshire garden. They were kept separate for many years but have proved to be identical.
