An old variety of Galanthus nivalis which has been round for over a hundred years. The greatly expanded spathe splits in two and looks rather like a large pair of ears. The outer petals have green marks at their tips. It is an un-demanding plant and is usually easily pleased.
Scharlockii sets fertile seed and has undoubtedly been raised from seed more than once. As a result there are several forms doing the rounds varying in size; some of them really quite small. Our plants are normal sized. Over the years we have had plants from a number of sources but can detect no differences between them.
