This is a striking selection of Galanthus rizehensis found in the wild in the 1970's by Prof. Turhan Baytop.
Bulbs were obtained by the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and are slowly finding their way to snowdrop enthusiasts.
Unlike the usual forms of rizehensis, this plant is large and robust. A strong bulb will produce three prostrate leaves and two erect scapes.
DNA investigations have shown the plant to be a triploid.
