Galanthus nivalis is so widespread throughout the UK that it is assumed to be native.
It displays suprisingly little variation, being remarkably uniform and on its own setting only small quantities of viable seed. It does increase well vegetatively and can build into substantial clumps before declining flowering indicates the need for lifting and splitting.
Producing bulbs in large commercial quantities is a specialised business which we leave to others It and its double variety are included here for reference and comparison.
