Galanthus nivalis Lady Elphinstone is a double selection of Galanthus nivalis with all the flower petal markings in yellow instead of the normal green,
It is a charming plant which always excites comment; although it is necessary to turn the flowers upwards to fully appreciate their beauty. Their structure is relatively regular and unmuddled, further enhancing their charm.
Conventional published wisdom is that the flowers can often be green marked in the year after transplanting although this has never been our experience.
Our stock came from both Primrose Warburg and Broadleigh Gardens. They were kept separate for many years but have proved to be indistinguishable.
