Twin headed snowdrops, that is with two separate flowers on the one scape (like Leucojum) are a great rarity amongst snowdrops. Many forms of elwesii will produce the occasional one but very few do it with any regularity.
Kite was selected in the middle of last century by Oliver Wyatt and named in association with E A Bowles. When settled, it regularly produces twin headed scapes. Sometimes the flowers are partially fused, but usually they are separate with one smaller than the other.
