Baxendales Late is a reliably, very late selection of plicatus; emerging just before platyphyllus and starting to flower in late March with us, in an early year.
It has erect glossy foliage and has a single scape with smallish, well-formed, single marked flowers. It is a good-doer and we look forward to its emergence each year.
Our stock came from Primrose Warburg as late plicatus. It matches the description in the recent monograph and is identical with a named sample bought from a reliable commercial source.
